Aquaponics: Let Nature Do The Hard Work -
Unlike the easy application of formulated nutrients for your plants in hydroponics. Aquaponics takes some more time for nature to run its course. It takes about a month to start “cycling” nitrifying bacteria to get your system going. This “Cycling” is the process of the ammonia from the fish waste to be converted into nitrates that the plants needs. The bacteria that is created serves the same purpose as store bought nutrients for hydroponic systems.
Hydroponics is a system for growing plants under highly optimized conditions. Aquaponics creates a ecosystem in which various living creatures –plants, fish, bacteria, and worms all live together all interact to create a symbiotic whole. Aquaponics systems turns waste into sustenance creating a permanent agriculture system. Aquaponics re-creates natural ecosystems between plants, friendly bacteria to produce organic fish and vegetables. More info coming soon...
